Digital change is permanent; most of the difficulty isn’t the technology. After twenty years of leading delivery — as CTO, programme director, interim executive and consultant — the pattern is consistent: what separates the organisations that deliver from the ones that don’t is teams, governance and honesty about what’s actually happening. That’s where I work.

Consultancy & interim leadership
I take senior delivery roles in complex environments: interim programme and portfolio leadership, digital transformation direction, delivery reviews and recovery. Recent work includes leading a special operations team delivering services into UK prisons for the Ministry of Justice, restructuring digital delivery at a major government department, and leading an AI-focused team transformation at the Financial Conduct Authority.
The common thread: I’m brought in when the stakes are high and the path is unclear — to steady the ship, reset the programme, or build the capability that means you don’t need me twice.

Training & capability
Lasting transformation is a skills problem before it’s a technology problem. I design and deliver digital capability programmes — including Digital Skills in Government, developed with Global Government Forum and drawing on the DWP Digital Academy I designed and ran, which went on to train thousands of civil servants. Digital Thinking, Digital Working does the same job for organisations outside government. Bespoke courses and team coaching available.
